Subtitles are used to translate dialogue from a foreign language into the native language of the audience. Not only is it the quickest and cheapest method of translating content, it is often the best method to allow audiences to hear the original dialogue and the actors’ voices . Film subtitling and dubbing services bridge the international language gap and connect people around the world. Subtitling makes movies accessible to audiences worldwide. Subtitling and dubbing both enhance the audience’s experience. Film subtitling companies or dubbing studios now play a valuable role in providing these services:
What is Subtitling?
Subtitles are text versions of the dialogue or commentary in films, television programs, video games, and the like. They are typically displayed at the bottom of the screen. In other words, subtitling is a technique for displaying the translation of the spoken language in a movie in any other language as required. Thus, audiences that do not speak the original language of a movie can read and understand the plot and the dialogue by reading the subtitled translation displayed on screen.
The word "subtitle" consists of the prefix "sub" (below) followed by "title".
How do we do it ?
Blue Ocean uses specialized computer software and hardware for subtitling. A video is digitally stored on a hard disk, and each individual frame is instantly accessible. The end result is a subtitle file containing the actual subtitles as well as position markers indicating where each subtitle should appear and disappear. These markers are usually based on timecode for electronic media (e.g. TV, video, DVD).
